Fatal Shooting at 8750 Broadway
Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 8750 Broadway about 2:10 a.m. today (Dec. 29).
The identitiy of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Elliott and Officer M. Stahlin reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above location and found the victim lying below a broken window of apartment #2212. A tenant of the apartment told police the victim arrived at his apartment and was visting with him when several unknown male suspects came to his door and attempted to force their way inside by kicking the door. The suspects then began shooting through the closed door. The victim then attemtpted to get away by jumping through a second floor window and was struck by gunfire. He died at the scene. The suspects fled the scene without entering the apartment.
At this time, there is no known motive for the shooting.
